Swords, dueling, Zorro, Musketeers, Olympic fencing…..People have been fascinated with swords for centuries. Today the modern sport of fencing, which can trace it’s roots back thousands of years, is a far cry from the fields of mortal combat. The popularity of the sport, centered around foils, epees, and sabres, is growing by leaps and bounds in the United States. Children as young as 6 and as old as 76 are discovering the fun, the challenge, the excitement, and the rewards of the sport of fencing.

Here in Greensboro, NC, the Delta H Fencers make this sport assessable to all through our competitive sports club. We have been co-sponsored by the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department for a number of years. This affiliation makes it possible for us to offer the public a variety of classes, seminars, tournaments, and camps.

Our coaches, have worked with Ron Miller, the fencing master at UNC to gain their expertise in teaching. This allows us to offer group and individual instruction in foil, epee, and sabre.

Over the years, we have seen that fencing is a great family activity. Parents and their kids can play together at club and many times compete in the same tournaments. Age should not be a factor that prevents you from enjoying our sport.
